Project Description
|
First phase of Inglemoor High School Replacement. Scope of work includes the demolition of four existing structures and construction of a new three-story high school building. The main phase of work will commence in the summer of 2025. To account for the dispersed students impacted by the demolition of existing buildings, a total of 5 temporary portable buildings and 10 classrooms are to be installed to the SW of the site.

Phase 1 Building
Excavation and installation of sewer along the North side of the campus from behind Home Plate to the corner of the gym has been completed! Demolition of the shot-put fencing has commenced in preparation for upcoming geothermal excavation scheduled to start the first day of Summer Break. Be on the lookout for changes to site fencing, access to the sports fields on the North Side of campus, and traffic routing in the fire lane adjacent to the Concert Hall at this time. |
Building 300 Renovation
Work occurring on the roof of the building has been completed. Walls in the first classroom have been closed up and we now move into finishes, beginning with painting. Demolition activities will begin in the second classroom the first week of summer break. |

Phase 1 Building
Site clearing has commenced for the geothermal wells and storm detention system located adjacent to the tennis courts, as area is prepped for upcoming drilling and excavation operations. In the Phase 1 building footprint, all designated tree removal has been completed, existing utilities below the canopy structures have been successfully disconnected, and courtyard demolition is underway. Coordination with our MEP trade partners is ongoing to ensure safe continuation of demolition and excavation. |
Building 300 Renovation
Demolition in the second classroom has been completed. Finishes have started with the first coat of paint and flooring install on the horizon. Plumbing equipment has been set in the back of house mechanical room and pipe insulation throughout nears completion. |

Phase 1 Building
Demolition in the courtyard is progressing steadily. So far, one of the four buildings slated for removal has been fully demolished. This phase is critical to clearing the site for foundational work on the new facility. Meanwhile, drilling operations are underway in the field adjacent to the tennis courts, where vertical geothermal wells are being installed. These wells will reach depths of approximately 300 feet and are part of a closed-loop ground source heat pump system. This system will provide sustainable heating and cooling for the new building by leveraging the stable temperatures found underground—an exciting step toward energy efficiency and carbon reduction. Looking ahead, our next major activity involves horizontal directional drilling (HDD) from the West parking lot to the center of campus. This trenchless method allows us to install utility conduits underground with minimal surface disruption. The bore path will span several hundred feet and navigate beneath existing infrastructure, which makes this a technically complex and fascinating operation. |

We’re getting closer to completion! Over the past couple of weeks, significant progress has been made in the Nutrition Classroom. Casework has been fully installed, lighting fixtures are operational, and range hoods are now in place to support proper ventilation and air quality during cooking demonstrations. Both classrooms have received brand-new commercial-grade flooring designed for durability and easy maintenance. Fresh coats of low-VOC paint have been applied to enhance indoor air quality, and the walls have been insulated to improve thermal comfort—especially important during the long winter months. |

Phase 1 BuildingDemolition is officially in the rearview—all buildings have been removed , and the site is now prepped for below-grade clearing. Hats off to our demolition trade partner, Pellco Construction, who executed the work with precision and efficiency, bringing down building after building with impressive momentum.
Meanwhile, over at the future geothermal field, drilling operations are well underway, and the installation of a new CMP stormwater detention system has begun adjacent to the tennis courts. The site is buzzing with activity, and the progress is tangible. Be sure to check out the progress photos section for a glimpse of these heavy hitters in action. Did someone say drill? Not to be outdone, horizontal direction drilling (HDD) from the west parking lot to the center of campus wrapped up almost as quickly as it started. This was a major milestone for the project—executed with speed and precision—saving both time and resources while delivering a critical infrastructure component. |
